OrgCon short presentation
Strategic organizational diagnosis and design considers the existing organization and its present situation with the aim of diagnosing and assessing what could be done to develop a more efficient and effective organization. OrgCon is a tool for strategic decision-making. The OrgCon analysis helps to understand the organizational situation. From the analysis better-founded strategies and organizational development can be designed to positively affect business results.
The knowledge base of OrgCon is rooted in research. The OrgCon software makes this research accessible and easy to apply for managers.
The knowledge base appears in OrgCon as a system of decision rules (”if-then" rules), that generally apply under specific sets of circumstances. This system of rules has been validated with business executives to assure reliable results in the organizational analysis.
OrgCon presents a holistic picture showing all the elements of a company and identifying the balances or 'fits' between elements. ‘Misfits’ occur if the interactions between various elements of a company are not well balanced. A misfit between the organization and its environment will occur if, for example, the market is developing at a faster speed or differently than the organization.
When using the software, the input plays an important role in defining the output of OrgCon. As you answer the questions based on your knowledge of the organization, you contribute important information to the decision making process.
The result is not a collection of answers and solutions. Instead, it is a framework useful for identifying basic priority business areas, and, discussing development and required adjustments. It allows management to see organizational issues in a context, instead of individually, and to prioritize change.
