Missing WMI Core
Symptoms
When trying to run OrgCon, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- You recieve an error dialog when starting OrgCon
The error dialog may contain one of the following messages:- Missing WMI Files.
or: - Your OrgCon (tm) has malfunctioned, eventhough it may be possible to continue to work, we recommend you save your work and restart your OrgCon 8 software.
And when clicking on "Detailed Error Report" you see the following information:
Message: The type initializer for "System.Management.ManagementBaseObject" threw an exception.
- Missing WMI Files.
Cause
This issue can occur due to the following reason:
- The WMI Core files did not install correctly.
- The WMI Core files are corrupted.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, use the appropriate method:
- (Re)Install the Microsoft WMI Core files.
Microsoft WMI Core 1.5 Download page. - Reinstall the OrgCon software.
Either by uninstalling and reinstalling or repairing from the "Add or Remove Programs" in "Control Panel".
